CHANGE THE BEAT SIGNS WOMEN AND GENDER NON-CONFORMING PRODUCERS TO SOME OF THE BIGGEST RECORD LABELS IN DANCE MUSIC WHILE ALSO MENTORING, EDUCATING, AND ELEVATING THEM ON THEIR PRODUCTION AND CAREER JOURNEY’S IN DANCE/ELECTRONIC MUSIC.

CHANGE THE BEAT (formerly 23by23) is a NFP founded by Sydney Blu which was created with the help of Native Instruments and is partnered with Beatport. Its aim is to assist record labels in discovering and signing women, trans, and non-binary producers to help foster a supportive and inclusive community, helping amplify diverse voices in the dance/electronic community through access to music programming, creative mentorship, and facilities for emerging artists.

The campaign is a call to action for all record labels in electronic music, regardless of size and stature, to help boost the percentage of women, trans and non-binary artists signed and discovered by various dance music imprints (the percentage currently averages less than 5%). To support this initiative, Label Radar, a producer platform owned by Beatport, is partnering with us by hosting remix competitions with major labels participating like Mau5trap, Drumcode, Anjunadeep & Anjunabeats, Drumcode, HE.SHE.THEY, Insomniac Records, Poker Flat Recordings, SOMA Records, Hospital Records, Toolroom Records, Club Sweat, Gorgon City’s Realm Records, Desert Hearts, SOLA Records, Nervous Records, Rawthentic Music, Soul Clap Records, Circus Recordings, and more.

To be a part of it as an artist, if you identify as female, trans, or non-binary, you can join Change the Beat (23by23)’s Discord to connect and share with other producers and submit your tracks for the grand prize of signing your record to one of these A-list labels, Komplete Ultimate, and some other fantastic Native Instruments gear.
